Common questions about the AI Readiness Assessment

What is an AI Readiness Assessment? +
An AI Readiness Assessment evaluates your organisation's preparedness to adopt AI across every business unit. You receive a comprehensive written report with opportunity scores, risk analysis, and a prioritised implementation roadmap.
How is this different from the free Discovery Call? +
The free Discovery Call is a 30-minute directional chat — Hamish gives you his read on whether AI fits your business and what we'd build first. The Assessment is a full multi-department analysis with a written roadmap you keep, regardless of whether you work with us afterwards. Most clients start with the Discovery Call to decide if the Assessment is worth it.
How long does the assessment take? +
The signup form takes about 5 minutes. Your nominated leaders then complete a short questionnaire (15-20 minutes each). The AI-powered analysis and full report are delivered within 7 days of the last response coming in.
What if AI turns out not to be right for my business? +
We'll tell you, in writing. The roadmap will include "do nothing" or "wait" recommendations where they apply. We'd rather give you an honest assessment than push you into something that won't pay off — half our value is helping you avoid wasting money on AI that doesn't fit.
Will you try to upsell me into a build engagement? +
No pressure. The roadmap is yours to act on however you want — DIY, with us, or with another agency. If you do want us to build the recommendations, we'll quote it separately and you can compare. Plenty of clients take the roadmap and run it themselves; we'd rather earn your repeat business than lock you in.
Do I need to be technical? +
Not at all. The questionnaires are written in plain business language. You don't need to know what RAG, LLMs, or vector stores are. We translate your business reality into AI opportunities — that's our job, not yours.
How much does it cost? +
$950 + GST self-serve, or $3,500 + GST for the on-site option (Melbourne or Sydney businesses only). The on-site adds 3-4 hours of pre-assessment consulting with a senior Synap consultant on-site to shape scope and brief your leaders. Both deliver the same report and roadmap.
